Sapindus mukorossi is a species of tree in the Sapindaceae family. The fruit is commonly known as Chinese soapberry or Washnut, and like other species in the genus Sapindus, it is called soapberry. Soap nuts are found in both the eastern and western hemispheres, but are native to India and Nepal. The value of the tree mostly comes from its fruit, which can be used for many pharmacological and cleansing purposes.
